Recently. I hope you all heard about that gay suicide thing. A kid i forget his name now jumped off the Hudson River after it was discovered that he had sexual relations in the privacy of his own room with his partner and it got streamed online. Seriously, what do you all think of it? Cyber bullying in general. Can we do anything?

Unfortunately there is no way to stop cyber bullying, the only thing you can do is make people aware that it is going on, to let people know they can tell someone if they are feeling bullied on the pc, to not put your real name, address anything that could identify you, and lastly especially with children make sure the parents monitor what they are doing on the pc

Yeah but monitoring them is one thing but even children these days can get around parental locks. They did it with TV right? so I mean I just don't see why the internet social networking stuff has to lead to lead someone to suicide because people decide they want to pull what they think is a joke, its not funny. What do you think should be the consequences of cyber bullying?

Hmm.......in a way it is still almost the same as your rgular playground bullies. Why do children bully at all? Because either they have nothing better to do with their time, they themselves get bullied so it becomes easier to be the attacker than the person getting attacked, or due to a lack of understanding to those who are different. There is more cyber bullying because there are less and less kids going outside and playing. Instead all the school children come home after school to play and talk on line.
However, I have a random comment and question. If someone was serious about comminting suicide why do they post it on facebook? They know others will read it and therefore try to stop them. I just know if I were to ever comit suicide I'm not about to come flat out and say it on line.

to answer ally- people who are serious about suicide tell people because in their head it is the only option but they are scared to do it and are looking for others to help them. no one wants to die, but some feel as it being the only option to stop the pain so they look to others to help them find other options or for others to say its okay
To nadia- you are right people now adays can get through anything and i agree with ally that bullying has now basically gone cyber and so i will also say this to go along with my last post, befriend someone if u see them being cyber bullied or say something to the person doing the bullying it just may make the person being bullyed realize there are people who care.
